• Anna Leigh Waters is playing for her 6th Triple Crown… in a row 🤯

• The MLP just released an update to their player safety rules, which bans the use of paddles with colors that limit contrast against the ball (aka making it hard to see the ball).

  • Although not explicitly mentioned, the only paddles used on the tour that fit these color profiles are the Tyson McGuffin signature Selkirk paddle and Andre Daescu’s Viking paddle.

• Jessie Irvine was hit in the head by a ball from a Dylan Frazier overhead in last week’s Beer City Open. She was forced to withdraw from her mixed and women’s doubles due to concussion protocol.

  • But this makes me think… what if it hit her eye? Should we all be wearing protective eyewear?

• Earlier this week, former pro tennis player, turned pro pickleball player Sam Querrey announced a podcast partnership with a controversial TV star 👀.

• Diadem released a first look at their brand new “Edge” paddle adorned with 18k Carbon Fiber. I don’t know what that means, but my podcast co-host, “the professor” Braydon Unsicker will be giving his thoughts on the paddle in our upcoming pod.

• Did anyone else notice Thomas Wilson’s signature CRBN paddle on court this weekend? Pickleball Will added a picture of it to his Insta story, and it looks like it may be a 12mm CRBN 1x.

• A casting call for a pickleball reality TV show… hosted by a former Bachelor contestant… Who’s in?

• A couple if Chilliwack, BC are going on hunger strike to fight the pickleball noise coming from their local neighborhood courts.

• A massive, 16-court indoor pickleball facility is #comingsoon to San Francisco

• ICYMI: 4x Stanley Cup champion, Kris Draper played in the Beer City Open last weekend but lost in the 5.0 consolation bracket.

• The world’s largest amateur pickleball tournament is kicking off in Columbus, OH August 4 - 6.
